So let’s talk about $COCP. This is my first DD, so please give me tips/advice where need be!

Overview

Who is Cocrystal Pharma?

They’re a clinical stage biotech company seeking to discover and develop novel antiviral therapeutics as treatments for serious and/or chronic viral disease. They employ unique structure-based technologies and Nobel Prize winning expertise to create the first- and best- in-class antiviral drugs. They’re meant to efficiently deliver small molecule therapeutic that are safe, effective and convenient to administer.

Now let’s talk about what they are working on!

They’re currently working on treatments for Hepatitis C (currently in Phase 2a), Influenza (MERK collaboration), Coronavirus, and Norovirus!

The MERK collab is one thing that excites me because they are paying and financing everything! Royalties, study costs, all of it! On top of it, just look at this next slide.

Now onto the Coronavirus topic!

To reiterate, these guys are working on a TREATMENT, not a vaccine. The FDA has relaxed the vaccine approval for corona to be at least 50% effective. This means that treatments WILL be needed for many years to come WHEN/IF we have a vaccine approved for mass production. Here’s what they plan.

NOW ONTO THE MOST COMPELLING DRUG IN THEIR PIPELINE, my reasoning for investing in this company long term, their Hepatitis C treatment!

CoCrystal looking for M&A for HCV treatment before P3 has begun says A LOT. $MRK already 100% funding Infuenza operation. Could be looking at 100’s of millions in milestone/buyout payments & 10%+ royalties on net sales of both! So there are rumors and whispers of talks of a M&A or collab or buyout for their Hepititus drug and look at the market share that Gilead lost between 2018-2019…

So question? How much value would $GILD find in trying to recapture the HSV market with a phase 2 passed drug AND maybe get the corona virus treatment and norovirus too? Or Merck would be happy to get all of them as well and expand their market share across the board!

Now I would like to talk about who they have on their team

CEO Dr Gary Wilcox PH.D, was a professor of microbiology at UCLA and the former Executive Vice President of Operations at ICOS Corporation the largest biotechnology company in the state of Washington, before it was sold to Eli Lilly and Company in 2007. At ICOS he played a key role in the development of Cialis.

Dr. Roger Kornberg is the Director, Chief Scientist and Chairman of $COCP Scientific Advisory Board who has been a member of the faculty of Stanford University since 1978 and won the Nobel Prize for Chemistry in 2006, for his studies of the molecular basis of Eukaryotic Transcription, the process by which DNA is copied to RNA. This also includes a 2001 Welch Prize, the highest award granted in the field of chemistry in the United States, and the 2002 Leopald Mayer Prize, the highest award granted in the field of biomedical sciences from the French Academy of Sciences.

To add, this company is also 50% INSIDER owned. This company and it’s team KNOWS and believes in themselves, which truly says a lot.
